Örnatorpet announce new single and album

The time has arrived to unveil the second single from “Fordomdags”, the forthcoming album by Örnatorpet, set for release on November 29, 2024. “Nedom berget, bort mot skogens gränser” (‘Below the mountain, toward the forest’s edge’) is now available on your preferred streaming service.

Since its inception in 2018, Örnatorpet has been praised for breathing new life into the dungeon synth genre, moving beyond mere imitation to craft unique soundscapes that conjure vivid, immersive visions. “Fordomdags” epitomises this ethos, blending homage with personal exploration.

Örnatorpet commented:

“Nedom berget, bort mot skogens gränser” takes its title from Erik Axel Karlfeldt’s 1895 poem Mossen. Although the poem depicts ghostly beings and a young girl on the moor, I was particularly drawn to the opening line, which inspired the song’s title, rather than focusing on the poem's narrative. This composition is a majestic and atmospheric piece, drawing inspiration from the grandeur and mystery of nature. It aims to portray the power and beauty of a landscape where a mighty mountain meets the forest's edge, with vast moorlands extending beyond. The goal is to transport listeners to a place where the forces and mysteries of nature converge. The piece evokes the feeling of standing at the base of a mountain, breathing in the crisp air, and gazing at the expansive view towards the horizon.
