Zachary Lucky & Nordvis

May 3 2019

From Saskatchewan, Canada to Swedish Lapland.

We’re really happy to finally share with you folks that we’ve entered a collaboration with the incredible Canadian Country/Americana artist Zachary Lucky. We’ve been huge fans of Zachary ever since we stumbled upon his tunes a couple of years ago and eventually our paths crossed. Ideas and plans grew naturally and now we’ll work together on re-releasing his “The Ballad of Losing You” album on LP and CD. Nordvis celebrates diversity in music and Zachary’s roots music will be a wonderful fit in the family of Nordvis.

Andreas/Nordvis continues:

The folk music of the west, with styles like country, bluegrass and americana has been very dear and important to me for a long time with artists such as Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley and Steve Earle. I’ve always had an aim and wish to involve this kind of music into the Nordvis family. Something that already slightly begun when I started to work with Austin & Panopticon around 5 years go. Part 2 of Panopticon’s last album is a truly fantastic country record. Taking that and this newfound unity with Zachary Lucky in mind, it is with great excitement and joy we now finally take Nordvis to a before untraveled territory and completely new level.

A few words from Zachary about this collaboration:

When we hit record six years ago in rural Saskatchewan, in a little farmhouse studio, I don't think I had a clue that the songs we were making would be a turning point in my career. I don't think I considered myself a "songwriter" before those songs - but it was in those songs and the experiences that lead to them in which I truly found my voice and myself as a songwriter.

When I released "The Ballad Of Losing You", little did I know that it would make its way to the Northern Swedish Laplands nearly six years later. It is exciting to see new life breathed into these songs and this release and I'm thrilled to be working with Andreas and Nordvis on this special reissue. Excited to share these songs once again with you all.
